Scratch & Powerpoint

March 10, 2009

Grade 3 students have been working on PowerPoint. Students have learned all the tricks and are creating wonderful presentations describing themselves and all their likes/dislikes.

Grade 4 students love SCRATCH!! Exploration and problem solving are key elements to our first attempts at creating SCRATCH projects. I’ll be posting the projects in a gallery on the Scratch website soon. Visit http://scratch.mit.edu/ to learn more!

Welcome Back!

September 13, 2008

It’s wonderful to be back to school after summer break. I’ve begun to meet with my classes and we’re excited to start working to integrate technology within their curriculum. I hope to build upon the lessons I developed last year and, if the students’ reactions are any indication, anything using the iPods and voice recorders will be a big hit!! I’m also eager to try to incorporate web 2.0 tools into my lessons. So, stay tuned!

From Iraq with Love-Newspaper article

July 3, 2008

Last week, the students of Mrs. Correia’s third grade class finally had the chance to meet their penpal Desy who recently returned home from Iraq. It was a wonderful experience for everyone who was able to attend the meet and greet! We were very fortunate to have a reporter from the local newspaper attend the event.
